When reading or listening to this book you will be transported to their world, the vivid imagery and colorful language make sure of that. I was happy to see that the main character Alia took charge and advocated for what she wanted. There were times in the book that I wanted Alia to be strong and she showed up in the end! Looking forward to the second book!
This is one of my favorite audiobooks. The story has a multiple POV portrayed by multiple narrators on the audiobook (versus one narrator reading for several characters) which enhances the reading experience and fully immerses you into the story.
The Eos Key: A Wynter Blood Novel by D.M. Lewry is the first book out of the Wynter Blood series that follows the fated couple Alia Carter and Eric Wynter--a vampire and a witch to put it plainly. This story really packs a punch. This story gives action, love, power, greed, sadness, and hope in a fantastical world with a lovely Black MC.
Alia and Eric are phenomenal characters who had me sliding to turn the page like I was playing Candy Crush😂 There are some dark issues incorporated, so this is definitely for a mature audience! I’ll be waiting for part 2 at the 🚪 🧛🏾♂️🧙🏾📚📚
This would be a treat for fans of twilight and the vampire diaries, as many aspects from their worlds I felt have been woven into the story. It was almost a walk down memory lane. :') (good old days eh?)
The thing I loved most about the book was the authenticity of Alia, the main character. Many of the mental health issues she struggled with were reflected in her choices & so many times I felt like I was looking in a mirror. I truly felt like the choices she made make sense for where she was mentally. I loved her relationship with Eric! I ship them hard as hell. The ending left me in pieces and I can’t want to pick them back up again whenever we get book number 2! Rating: ★★★★★ Spice: 🌶
The protagonist is a treat to read as she's so complicated and at times even frustrating but I think that's what makes you connect better with her. I commend the author for portraying mental health topics in such an honest manner. I haven't come across many fantasy books that do so; it made me connect and relate to the main lead better. There were parts of myself that I could see in her.
For all my fantasy readers, this is the book for you!✨💫 D.M. Lewry packs a punch with her debut novel about a young girl that faces intense turmoil, until she encounters a vampire named Eric Wynter, who changes her life forever. This story kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish, and the amazing imagery made me feel like I was apart of the characters’ world. Ya'll know I don't really like vampire stories, but this book had me on the edge. The plot is amazingly written and starts at the point where she has literally just found out about the supernatural world around her. I really want to read on and will eagerly wait for more. Amazing! Can’t wait for more! 😀
I don't normally enjoy vampires being one of the main characters but I'm loving this story and definitely Eric!!!!
WOW, Bravo👏🏽👏🏽 the author did a fantastic job with this book. I thought I was watching a movie... sitting at the end of my seat waiting and anticipating the characters next move... The suspense, the cliffhanger had me on edge throughout the story. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us. It was a pleasure reading (the 1st draft of) this book and I wish the author success with her writing career. Cheers 🥂 P.S. Thanks for creating Alia... It's official: I'm HOOKED! Original, character-driven plot, love, all kinds of supernatural beings...what's not to love? This story hooked me from the beginning and did not let up!
